Whilst exploring the best of Barcelona’s modernist architecture, we paid visit to‘La Ricarda’hidden in a pine forest and situated just a stone’s throw from Catalonia’s majestic shoreline. Designed by the famed Catalan architect Antonio Bonet, The Gomis House – ‘La Ricarda’ was constructed over ten years commencing from 1953. Today, the house remains with the Gomis family yet stands perfectly untouched, existing exactly as it was when serving as an artistic refuge.
The property’s impeccable preservation is thanks to the original owner’s three daughters. Now, in light of its historic role and significance, they aim to have La Ricarda recognised as a museum of Catalonian art, culture and intellectualism.
